The photographs here illustrate some recent work I did for a client in Brighton. The work includes a pedestal cabinet for the bathroom basin, a bath panel and a fitted cabinet built around the boxed-in pipework behind the toilet.

Cherry shelving unit & oak cabinet
By rich in CabinetsUpdate: The shelving unit for records, as mentioned in my last post, is now complete . The first photo here shows the completed unit before it had been varnished. In the second photo the unit has now been spray-lacquered to bring out the beauty of the cherry-wood veneer. Click on photographs to enlarge.

Simple alcove shelves
By rich in ShelvingSimple shelves fitted into alcoves are probably the thing I am asked to build more often than anything else. The MDF shelves pictured here are an excellent and affordable was to utilize the space either side of a fireplace. In this example the shelves in the right side alcove are build slightly bigger and once painted will support a television.

Work in progress: TV & media cabinet.
By rich in CabinetsMy next project is a large oak television & AV cabinet. The client has recently bought a 40 inch flat screen television and wanted to be able to hide it away when not in use. The cabinet design illustrated here comprises two oak cabinets, the top one for the TV and a lower unit to house the video, dvd and Hi-Fi equipment. When open, each of the doors can slide back into the cabinet so as to allow a better view of the screen, which can be brought forward on a sliding drawer-tray. The photographs below show the project at various stages through its design and construction.
